Maharashtra govt has decided to implement strict lockdown-like Covid-19 due to sharp rise in infections. The new rules will come into effect from 8 pm on Monday. ( 5th April 2021)
Night curfew will be put in place from 8 pm to 7 am. As per the new rules, people who work for essential services will only be allowed to travel at night. The new rule mentions that hotels and restaurants can only allow takeaways. In-hotel dining will not be permitted. Also, theatres, parks will remain shut as of now. The rules also add that no big shootings will be allowed in the state.
he Covid-19 situation in Maharashtra continues to be worrisome with the state reporting 49,447 new cases on Saturday. This is the highest single-day spike in the state ever since the coronavirus pandemic began last year. A day earlier, Maharashtra’s daily new case tally was 47,827.
On Saturday, Maharashtra also reported 277 Covid-19 deaths and the case fatality rate stood at 1.88 per cent. Case fatality rate is the percentage of cases where deaths occur out of the total cases.
The state currently has 4,01,172 active cases.
